Depending on their size academies have to complete forms giving various details which can be used in the WGA. The deadline for this year is 28 September 2012. The Education Funding Agency (EFA) will pay a grant of £1,600 to £2,000 towards the costs of preparing the WGA if an advisor has been used. There is a section on the WGA to complete with regard to this. Together with the WGA there is a self review checklist which should be submitted with the WGA.
Whilst separate to the WGA the EFA has bought the ABF together with the WGA to form a consolidated package of financial returns for academies. The ABF therefore also needs submitting by 28 September 2012. The ABF replaces the General Annual Grant (GAG) 2 return.
The EFA will pay a grant of £1,200 to £1,600 (flat rate depending on the size of the academy) towards the cost of a professional advisor if the forecast submitted by the deadline.
